| I have just completed my Advanced Diploma at NMIT in Engineering Technology- Jewellery. While this doesn't mean I am technically an engineer, it does mean that I can make you gorgeous, gorgeous jewellery! Very good news for you! In 2012 I will continue to supply some beautiful retail outlets with my work so that all of the nice people can buy my jewellery. I already stock a great shop in Yarra Glen called Yarra Valley Gifts, which is run by a lovely lady called Liz Lucas. If you are in the area, perhaps for a visit to any number of the local wineries or galleries, pop in and have a look at the range of local artists work as well as heaps of great gift ideas. I also have some of my brooches in The Artist's Lounge in Healesville, a great drive in the country and some fabulous places to eat and shop. My jewellery is mainly focused on nature and our part in it. I live in a beautiful part of the world, surrounded by National Parks and all the creatures that live in there. This connection to the bush and its inhabitants is the main inspiration for my work. Very often there is a little bit of silliness in there too with some of the critters that I make with the coloured glass. The other glass I use is recycled bottles- again this is in response to the natural world and how we need to find more ways to re-use and recycle. I am available to teach ART CLAY SILVER and beading classes for any sort of group and you can purchase supplies here on the website I design and create custom leadlights. I am also very good at providing awesome and specialised corporate gifts, with experience supplying gifts for DHS (Department of Human Services, Govt. Dept.), The World Trade Centre and my local Shire. Thanks for checking out my work and double thanks if you have purchased something! I believe it is important to support and encourage handcrafts and the incredibly talented artists that create it. PS Mariposa is Spanish for 'butterfly'... PPs Thanks to MUM for the grammar lesson! |
